Holiday Time: a brief end-of-year report.
Nov 2018 30

Happy holidays, friends.

Been a busy few months since I last wrote. Mostly because I got married! Mandy and I have been life (and music) partners for over seven years, and celebrating that, committing to sharing the rest of our lives together in front of people we love, was one of the most important things I’ve ever done. In the strange and frightening times we live in, it’s more important than ever to commit to loving one another.

I have a few special shows in Ithaca before we yell “cut” on 2018.

This Friday, November 30th, Mandy and I will be playing a duo set at The Westy (where I get to bang on their delightful old upright piano) from 7pm-9pm.

Sunday, December 9th, I’ll be playing a solo piano set for brunch at Agava, 12pm to 2pm.

Then on Friday, December 14th, I’ll be playing the first Samuel B. Lupowitz & The Ego Band set since 2015 at The Haunt! It will be a selection of my songs old and new, performed as a trio (like I did in the earliest days of the Ego Band) with the excellent rhythm section of Thomas Westcott on bass and Cooper Casterline on drums.

The show is to benefit the Ithaca Free Clinic. Next to Kin, Viva Mayhem, Hollow Choir, Strange to Look At, and Roadman will be performing as well. Perhaps I’ll even sit in with a few of them…

The show starts at 7pm; my trio will be opening the evening. Suggested donation is $10 at the door

Sunday, December 16th, Mandy and I will play another duo set as part of the Ithaca Musician’s Office Party. We’re putting together a few special songs for the occasion, which is also a fundraiser for local musicians in need. The music begins at 4pm, at Maxie’s Supper Club. Finally, Monday, December 31st, I’ll ring in the New Year back at Agava, getting funky with Thru Spectrums. I can’t wait.

I’ve been writing and working on a lot of fun projects for 2019, and I’m looking forward to sharing those with you all. Until then…
