Ego Band Wins VF Outlets Battle of the Bands
Sep 2013 08

Sam and the Ego Band trekked to Reading, PA this weekend to participate in the VF Outlets’ second annual Battle of the Bands.  Nine groups competed, each performing two songs from the 1970s.  The Ego Band performed their go-to Mad Dogs and Englishmen tune, “The Letter,” and a new, horn-driven arrangement of Led Zeppelin’s “When the Levee Breaks,” featuring Mandy Goldman on lead vocals.

Against tough competition, the Ego Band took first place, and the grand prize of two thousand dollars.  Many thanks and much appreciation to all those who came out and gave their support, as well as to VF and The Party People for hosting the event.  It’s a big victory for the band, and they are looking forward to carrying the momentum forward into the next few months of performing and writing.  Keep up to date by signing up for the SBL newsletter!
